The Rt. Rev. Dr. Alphonza Gadsden, Sr.
and First Lady Hester Gadsden

We live in a confused and troubled world that offers no consolation to those who seek a sense of peace and direction. At New Israel, we believe that the Lord has called us to offer solace to those who desire to live godly and peaceful lives.

At New Israel, we have come to understand that true peace is found in the Word of God when studied, taught, and lived out by those who desire to be led by the Spirit of God. Our worship is based solely on God’s Word and expressed in the traditional liturgy of the Anglican Faith and Worship, using the Reformed Episcopal Book of Common Prayer.

For more than 150 years the Reformed Episcopal Church has remained true to the Word and has endeavored to proclaim the inerrant and steadfast Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ that is able to comfort and bring peace to those who seek Him.

We are a biblical, liturgical, evangelical, and sacramental church. We are biblical because we believe that God’s will for His people is found only in the Word of God; God’s Word offers the source of peace and consolation that men need. We are liturgical because we believe that it is God’s intent that we worship Him in a systematic way so that we may be able to focus our attention upon Him. We are evangelical because having come to know and understand God’s Word it is our responsibility as Christians to share it with others, especially those who are walking in darkness. We are sacramental because we believe in the words of our Lord that as followers of Christ, we are to commemorate His death and resurrection until He comes again. Through our celebration of the Lord’s Supper/Holy Communion, we are faithfully awaiting His second coming.

Jesus invites those who are burdened with life’s trials to come to Him that He might ease their burdens and give them the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” He is still calling men to come unto Him that He may fill the void that exists in their life. Why not turn to Him today?

You are welcome, whether you are connected with a church or not. You are welcome regardless of race or ethnicity. Join us for a worship experience that can change your life forever.

It is our hope that you will accept our invitation.

Yours in His service,
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Alphonza Gadsden, Sr.
